Now it's Melissa's turn

Funny how the word "fate" seems to work... Less than a month after I learned and posted here that Lea's going to the Netherlands, I got a phone call from Melissa telling me the same message - she's going to the Netherlands too!  Not to see the windmills, buy diamonds or smell the tulips.  Starting January 2010, she'll be in Van Gogh's birthplace on a PhD scholarship in Social Sciences.
Mighty proud of her - I used to see her as my "mom" in Japan.  Nova even said that she allowed me to play and live contentedly in Japan.  I'm pretty glad that we both seized the opportunity to live apart on our last year in Kobe.  This allowed our relationship to evolve and we gradually became "sisters."   The past two years since we got back, I definitely took a back seat as Leo, Ading and Baby 2 (well, along with Mommy, Daddy, Reng-reng, Kuya Dilbert even Ate Bell and Ate Kulot) claimed her back. I don't mind at all. In fact, I'm just too happy to think of her as my girlfriend!
Congratulations to my mom-sister-girlfriend!  Come back and inspire Ading, Baby2 and me with your PhD diploma and a job in an international organization - still and definitely helping the vulnerable sector!

  1. Wow! I'm really blown away by this blog! Grabe complete with collage! Promise I looove looking at the pictures.. and they really say it all about our friendship... I don't know, this makes it even harder to leave.. I told Raul last night that I'm scared to go there since you'll not be there for me anymore... But you did promise that you'll gonna go there and sneak in my apartment right? Don't ever break this!

  2. oo nga - all the pictures were taken during our school trips or while we were eating out in restaurants! ah, yung dalawa winning moments natin - graduation sa nihongo class and sa kobe university (suot mo ang marc jacobs dress)! siyempre didn't post those pics na naka pambahay ka lang cooking our food or scrubbing our bathroom, =) nasa mobile ko lang yon...

scared to go? ikaw pa - sabi mo nga once na-visualize mo na - magkaka-totoo. don't worry too much kasi more than your professor sino pa ba ang nakakaalam ng plight ng urban poor at housing nila sa philippines, diba ikaw lang. besides, being a "fast learner" kaya mo rin alamin agad ang tungkol sa housing ng urban poor in other southeast asian countries. alam mo naman - ngayon hindi lang mga words ni mommy mo ang tatandaan ko - kailangan pati sa iyo, after all parating, "there's enough slot for everybody!"

next time windmills na ang background mo and talagang you're so through na with Gap Japan....
